Willow Valley Inn & Suites

Since 1966, Willow Valley has been a leader in the hospitality industry with a reputation of exceeding guest expectations in both service and quality products. As part of our planning process to continue that tradition, we have spent the last several months developing a strategic plan to guide Willow Valley Associates, Inc. into the future, building on the recent changes in 2010 with the conversion of our atrium building to the current DoubleTree Resort by Hilton. Through this process, we evaluated every part of our business to identify what is working well and where improvements are needed.

After exploring many options, our analysis has clearly shown we can no longer sustain the Willow Valley Inn and Suites to the standards our guests deserve. The immense need for future capital outweighs the amount we can ask our guests to pay to stay, or dine with us.

This is not a decision we have come to lightly and we recognize how difficult this change will be for our guests and our Team Members. We have done multiple cost comparisons and reviewed numerous business model options, but in the end, it is not feasible to continue operating the Inn and Suites.

As a result, the Willow Valley Inn and Suites, Bakery and Willow Tree Smorgasbord closed on November 12, 2012. The Willow Valley Golf Course and the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton, Lancaster will remain open and will continue to be owned and operated by the Thomas family and Willow Valley Associates, Inc. As part of our strategic plan, we will be redeveloping the land where the current Willow Valley Inn and Suites is located. Plans for the site are in the formative stages at this time, but we will complement the needs of our community and guests – with the potential addition of retail, service or dining businesses.

Thank you for being our valued guest over the past 46 years. We cherish the memories your family shares with us and are truly honored to be part of your history. We encourage you to share memories with us on Facebook! We look forward to a bright future, continued relationships and many more memories from your next stay with us at DoubleTree Lancaster.

Sincerely,
Diane Thomas Poillon
